Partial or complete reimbursement of medical treatment for uninsured patients
Partial or complete medical reimbursement of phototherapy sessions
Partial reimbursement for Melanocyte transplant and Micropigmentation
The Indin Vitiligo Association (IVA) is one of a kind not for profit that provides medical reimbursement for the uninsured patient population in India, since Vitiligo is a chronic, auto-immune incurable disorder that is manageable at best.
Treatment is often focused at cosmetic improvement, however, some cases may need medical therapy for months to get complete remission.
IVA pledges to donate partially or completely on case by case basis, the medical cost of treatment from verified centers in the country.
Indian Vitiligo Association was created with one aim in mind. The founders wish to lower the socio-economic burden associated with Vitiligo in India.
Narrowband UVB (NB UVB) currently represents the phototherapy of choice for vitiligo. Side effects are less frequent than in PUVA therapy and efficacy is at least equivalent. Generalized active vitiligo is preferentially treated with total body narrowband UVB which can arrest disease progression and may induce significant repigmentation.
IVA pledges to partially reimburse uninsured patients receiving phototherapy from qualified medical practitioners in the country.
With the advent of melanocyte transplant as surgery of choice for vitiligo treatment of stable patches, patints might want to opt for this advanced technique however, might be deter owing to the cost associated with the procedure at the moment.
Melanocyte transplant is currently being performed by few qualified medical professionals in the country in metro cities such as Delhi, Bombay, and Bangalore.
Having said that, the cost of the procedure varies from provider to provider and presents the scope of reimbursement.
Micropigmentation in vitiligo can be used as a near-permanent treatment for stable vitiligo patches on the lips, peri-oral areas and small patches on finger tips.
Micro pigmentation is being exploited by various tattoo artists in the country who are performing this procedure in active cases without being aware of the consequences.
Qualifying patients can claim medical reimbursement through IVA by clicking on claim button. Our team will get in touch with you and assess wether you are eligible for a melanocyte transplant.
Melanocyte transplant and micro pigmentation are novel techniques in the treatment of Vitiligo.
Recommended for patients with stable patches, treatment is often expensive.
